Overview
Aljamia brings you music from the early centuries. They are a dance, fire arts, and music collective inspired by mediaeval Europe and La Convivencia. Songs and dances from the golden age of Islam and Judaism, Christian musician kings, visionary saints, anonymous minstrels, and street performers. Aljamía takes you on a journey to a forgotten and erased past of multiculturalism, wisdom, and beauty.
They will take you on a mediaeval journey through centuries and continents. Together as a collective, they bring to the stage a dance & fire show, with live music.
Aljamia were so well received at the Mediaeval Fayre in Blacktown, in 2023, they were instantly re-booked for 2024. At last years Northern Beaches Festival, they proved to be popular and were invited to perform at the Shack.
