Overview
Gerry is best known for his settings of the works of Banjo Patterson and Henry Lawson, and more recently has gained a reputation as an outstanding songwriter.
He is regarded as an accomplished guitarist and powerful singer. His musicianship owes much to the English folk guitar tradition having learnt from the likes of Davy Graham, Bert Jansch, Martin Carthy and Nic Jones. Earlier influences included Big Bill Broonzy and Brownie McGhee. Latterly Gerry has added some slide guitar pieces to his repertoire, reflecting a lifelong interest in the Blues.
