Overview
Founded in Sydney by Ukrainian singer and violinist Mar’yana Sywak, Jaga Band has entertained audiences with their distinctive celebration of traditional songs and dances inspired from across the Carpathian region, rich and diverse in influences from Ukraine. Jaga Band uniquely incorporates authentic Eastern European instruments the sopilka, accordion, cymbalom and violin, to bring to life traditional songs of love, loss and heroism that encourage and inspire audiences to dance and sing along.
Multicultural members of Jaga Band include high-calibre artists from different European countries - Mar’yana Sywak (Ukraine), Lucy Voronov (Belarus), Tatjana Marx (Serbia).
