Overview
Led by Kathy Bluff on violin and vocals and Paul Burjan on saxophone and flute, the band explores a rich, orchestral palette, combining soulful vocals and swinging violin with cool flute and saxophone. That essential Parisian ambience comes with the piano accordion of Garry Steel. Well known Sydney jazz guitarist, John Blenkhorn provides rhythmic pulse and beautiful solos. The talented rhythm section features Merv Sequiera on double bass and Mike Quigley on drums, laying down the best of grooves. The music of Chasing the Moon counterpoints the darkly chromatic sounds of European jazz with the light hearted flair of American swing and the irresistible charm of the Parisian café, creating a joyous atmosphere.
