Overview
Blue Mallee are an original act that showcase folk music ambience, primal rhythms, soaring vocals, storytelling and great banter. This all translates towards this duo, comprising of Evan and Niev, pushing the boundaries of contemporary indie folk music with traditional influences and dreamlike soundscapes.
Blue Mallee have fostered a wide music following and have played multiple music venues and festivals in NSW including Bundanoon Folk Festival, Yass Irish & Celtic Festival, Tilba Festival and Sussex Inlet’s Scandinavian Viking Festival.
After receiving a music grant, Blue Mallee released their debut EP ‘Shout That Whisper’ in 2022. A follow up full record release "Questions of Fear" is available in 2024.

“Approaching the band as a novice, I saw the word “folk” and was expecting yet another traditional roots-folk album. It is nothing of the kind. In fact, it’s much closer to dreampop than folk, though without the Pop.
